I'm a member of Living History Reenactment group, originated in Nitra, Slovakia named DS Satyros.
This "hobby" has made a great impact on my life and affected me in many ways. Whether it be building camps during rain at night, cooking in a way that non period accurate ingredients are omitted, giving public performances or fighting in the toughest heat while wearing armor that does not exactly resemble lightness and comfort during those temperatures.
I represent a Frankish trader that takes part in (more or less) legal trade on Magna Moravia in 9th century.
An important part of the whole reenactment thing is a quality hand made costume. An extensive study of history alongside various documents with scientific (various University theses, publications, ...) or straight historic (various psalters, iluminations, ...) origin. This also concludes setting items as chosen only if the portrayed character could have gotten to the place (year dated, geographic location, culture, possibilities of character).
